2.1 Geometry Modeling with Rhino
Watch and follow the video tutorials (Rhinoceros webinar with Mary Fugier):- Rhinoceros webinar: Part 3 - http://vimeo.com/16707257
- Rhinoceros webinar: Part 4 - http://vimeo.com/16741253
- Rhinoceros webinar: Part 5 - http://vimeo.com/20038669
Note: You may skip the part of the exercise using Flamingo nXt as the renderer in Video Part 5. Instead, you may use the Rhino renderer for this homework.
Save model files that you viewed and modified based on the video instruction, and the new files you created during the exercise into:
_Homework2_Firstname_YourLastname_folder.2.2 Parametric Modeling with Grasshopper
Watch Introduction to Grasshopper Webinar - http://vimeo.com/28175502
Study Chapter 1 Vector Mathematics of: Essential Mathematics For Computational Design
and re-create the Grasshopper models for samples from Figure 1 through Figure 17 found in the source file of the book: TheEssentialMathematics_4thEdition2019.gh, which can be downloaded through the link: https://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/8/essentialmathematics/
(both the .pdf and .gh files)
You can use the source file as your reference file. Work directly in the file and create your node graph on the right side of each existing graph, or create your own new file. Don't copy/paste the existing nodes, instead create them by yourself. Save your final file as:
EssentialSamples_Chapter1_YourFirstname_YourLastname.gh
and save it into Homework2_YourFirstname_YourLastname_folder.
Note: in case there is a version difference between the samples file and your Grasshopper, some nodes in the sample file cannot be found in the current Grasshopper software user interface. You don't have to create the exact graph (same nodes and same links). As long as your results are the same as the original graph, it is good.2.3 Submission
Zip the Homework2_YourFirstname_YourLastname folder into Homework2_YourFirstname_YourLastname.zip.
Submit the zip file to TAMU Canvas: https://canvas.tamu.edu/
